In this assignment, the student is required to choose one color and illustrate a self portrait. This self portrait is supposed to show several tints and tones of that chosen color.
With my chosen color, blue, I was able to illustrate a self portrait with seven or more tones and tints of said blue. What works really well here is my overall ability to compose a multi-toned and vibrant design with various shades. This self portrait took me nearly 8 hours to start and finish, but I’m still satisfied with the outcome despite my poor handling with a brush. What could’ve worked better was my color coordination as well as which shades and tints go where. Nonetheless, I look forward to doing more with color and getting better with my paints.
